In Bharuch, the Manmaitree Sewa Foundation, a leading organization dedicated to animal welfare, collaborated with social worker and cow protector Mr. Sejal Bhai Desai to provide exemplary service to an injured cow.
On Saturday, July 29, 2023, during the afternoon, an injured cow with a severed tail and bleeding profusely was seen near the Collector’s office. Noticing the distressing condition of the cow, Mr. Sejal Bhai Desai immediately contacted the Manmaitree Sewa Foundation office. However, due to the absence of the organization’s veterinarian, he requested immediate assistance by calling the Gujarat Government’s Animal Ambulance service at 1962.
Despite the lack of a proper response from 1962, Mr. Desai reached out again to the Foundation. The Foundation’s Trustee, Jayesh Parikh, quickly dispatched Rescue Team member Bhavna Ben with turmeric, Betadine, and cotton for first aid.
Mr. Desai began administering first aid himself and simultaneously contacted animal health expert Dr. Meet Bhai Modi, who was urgently called to the scene. Dr. Modi provided intensive treatment over the next one to one and a half hours, successfully stabilizing the cow and ensuring her recovery.
